5) What is the difference between freight and logistics?

The term “logistics” encompasses a broader range of activities than freight transportation. While freight transportation refers specifically to the shipping of goods, logistics also includes other aspects of the supply chain such as storage, distribution, and packaging. Logistics can also involve coordination between different modes of transportation, such as rail, truck, and ship. In short, logistics is the process of getting goods from point A to point B in an efficient and cost-effective manner.

6) What are the 4 main types of freight transportation?

There are four main types of freight transportation: road, rail, water, and air. Each mode has its own unique advantages and disadvantages, depending on the type of goods being shipped. For example, shipping goods by truck is generally more expensive than shipping by rail, but it is much faster. Conversely, shipping by water can be cheaper but slower than other methods.

7) What is the difference between LTL and FTL?

LTL stands for less than truckload, while FTL stands for full truckload. LTL shipping refers to shipping goods that do not fill an entire truck, while FTL shipping is when the entire truck is filled with goods. This generally results in a lower shipping cost per pound, but it can also be more difficult to track and manage shipments that are not full truckloads.
